August 27 and 28 with GRAMMY Nominee RL Boyce

This month - two shows up north with GRAMMY nominated Mississippi Hill Country legend RL Boyce!

Sat. August 27th - Atwood's Tavern, Cambridge MA matinee 2-4pm get tickets here
Sun. August 28th - meadlowlark festival, Red Hook NY 3:45pm (this is an invite only event - apply for an invite here)

RL Boyce is Mississippi blues royalty. A true lineage holder, Boyce came up in the fife and drum tradition with Otha Turner, then played drums with Jessie Mae Hemphill and was influenced directly by RL Burnside, Fred McDowell and Ranie Burnette. He is truly one of a kind and the last of a generation of musicians who are often imitated, but will never be replicated. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to catch him in the Boston area for a one off show as he makes his way to New York for the meadowlark festival. DO. NOT. MISS.

I will be opening the show and backing Mr. Boyce, along with my long time collaborator Grant Smith. It's a privilege to welcome him up north after having the good fortune to play with him a few times in the south. See you there!
